Woodside Cottage is a comfortably furnished 100-year old cottage set in the beautiful Cannop Valley Nature Reserve in the very heart of The Royal Forest of Dean.
Walk out of the garden gate into oak woodlands. Woodside Cottage has a large fenced garden complete with barbecue and garden furniture. Watch the birds feed at the bird feeders, Woodpeckers and Nuthatches are some of the regular visitors which can be seen feeding from the dining room window.

- Double bedroom, wardrobe and dressing table with woodland views.

- Bunk bedroom with wardrobe.
- Bathroom: Bath with overhead shower, toilet and wash basin.
All beds are supplied with sheets, duvet & cover, pillows and pillow slips. The Cottage is heated by Electric Night Storage Heaters.
Surrounding Area
The cottage is located 100 yards from the start of the cycle track and Pedal A Bike Away cycle hire centre. The Cycle trail offers eleven miles of former railway tracks running through the Forest. For more experienced rider there are downhill trails.
Cannop Ponds and Beechenhurst Picnic site with Sculpture Trail are only a 15 minute walk from the cottage. The site has barbecues a play area, climbing tower, cafe and toilets.
The Dean Forest Railway at Lydney is a must for steam enthusiasts. Symonds Yat has spectacular views and is a haven for rock climbers, ramblers and bird watchers with regular sightings of Peregrine Falcons and Kites
The town of Coleford lies 5 miles away with the town of Cinderford 6 miles away, the nearest train staion is Lydney which is 10 miles away. Woodside Cottage ideally located for exploring the Forest Of Dean, Cotswold’s, Herefordshire & Wales.
The Forest of Dean consists of 42 square miles of ancient woodlands nestled between the rivers of the Severn and Wye. The River Wye meanders through the beautiful Wye Valley and is excellent for Canoeing and fishing. The river Severn is famous for the Severn Bore a spectacular natural phenomena, it is a surge wave which can be seen in the River Severn estuary where the tidal range is the second highest in the world. There are many local attractions to visit. Clearwell Caves, which were created by man mining for ore when the Romans ruled ancient Britain. The Dean Heritage Centre at Soudley recounts the history of The Royal Forest of Dean. Facilities include an adventure playground, a nature trail and a cafe.
Please note that there is limited public transport available near the cottage. It is recommended that you bring your own transport to gain the most from your holiday.
